This image captured just inside the Canmore town limits about 1km into the off leash dog walk, just past the helicopter port on bow valley trail, which turns into Higway 1A. If you were born in Alberta you know that this is wild rose country, the wild rose can be found from Alberta to Texas northeastward to New York at elevations up to 9000 feet. Look for prairie wild rose in prairies, sandy tame pastures, roadsides, and at the edges of woods. This rose in particular is just coming into full blossom what a small world exists if we only take a few moments to look.
