Even though this photograph of much prestige looks as though it was taken from a plane or helicopter. John actually did a fair amount of climbing with camera pack and tripod for the shot! The photo was taken just west of Banff in the first week of September after a brief alpine snow fall the night before. This image was John's first major postcard image and remains in print to this day 9 years later. Needless to say this keystone image made John a leading photography provider in the Canadian Rockies with well over million postcards being published with his name in the last ten years.
