The Banff Springs Hotel was where my first wedding found me in May of 1995. Even though the the General Manager of the Banff Park Lodge excepted the risk that I had never photograph a Wedding before he left it up to my fresh and happy go lucky self to satisfy the call. What a place to start a career with absolutely zero experience with Weddings. Well the photos were pleasing enough that I am still here and still determined to make something with this life of image creation. The truest fact about anything you choose to do to defend your spine and that fact is you are only as good as the army behind you. Today for the first time in my world of weddings and special events I have a 100% true blue partner at Haute to Go I can truly depend on. There is only so much you can bet on with a wild stallion running free biting at the bit wholeheartedly without a great manager to keep the direction fair for a beast that feels no limits in it's heart. After 16 years covering events our only philosophy here at Haute to Go is "Slow and Steady Wins the Race!" every time when every ones nerves are full tilt in the heart of even the most organized event.

The Bear and Bison Inn is a stunning little lodge in a overly developed sub division in Canmore that still provide enough intimacy for Elopements and modest Weddings. The venue however struggles for unadulterated scenery created from all the development unless you have a photographer that is willing to take the wedding party for a stroll along the close by Cougar Creek. With in a brief 5 minute walk ahhh! We have plenty of mind altering Western Canadian Landscape that has made the Canadian Rockies known as the most majestic mountains on earth. True thing! The Famous Three Sisters Mountain backdrop and the scene is complete for all!

Winter is a long cold and weary place if you let be. However with my new position at Haute to Go the romance brewing in this mighty fine kitchen is a full tilt joy ride for the taste buds and gorgeous well being around every turn that takes the chill off the spine every time. Megan's Organic Butternut Squash is nothing like I have ever had before and with how Winter like the weather is at some of these mountain resorts it is a treasure to have a whole food specialist that is willing to harness the flavor and nutrition profiles of the locally grown.

It is a joy with every spoon full. I may be a visual artist of so many expressions however the mastery of such edible art is truly the source of a enlighten soul. -If you could only add water to a jpeg file to share the experience. Oh well, until next time eat well!

Wedding and Elopement photography has coloured my life for 16 years in Banff National Park. The funny thing is Weddings and Elopements was not even in my frame of mind in Art school. My dream was to be like my educators before me and work for motion pictures studios creating fascinating movie posters for kids of all ages to collect.

After coming back home to Canada and Banff all of this education falls to the way side and one starts to pursue creative outlets here at home. Here at Haute to Go life is fun and most importantly ultra yum. We are always creating something elegant as Megan is always cooking up a storm of great new entrees for our clients to enjoy. It only makes sense to have food that is assembled to perfection with the right flavor profiles to match our couples unique preferences on such memorable day as their elopement.

With many of our Elopements on the go our clients travel with Megan and I in Elegant transport that we hire for them and then we show our clients the four corners of the National Parks with only the type of spectacular views they want to enjoy in their video and photography.

There is absolutely no other place in the world like the Vermillion Lakes in Banff National Park to capture heart filled romantic fine art wedding images. The textures of the region simply blows me away with how many possible out comes there are from each photographic session with any couple interested in only the most unique harvest for their special date. My personal approach to the art of package creation is as unique as the couple that come to me year after year. You see I am a fine artist at heart and photography for me is only the seed holding whatever unconscionable creative celebration for my couples interwoven energy that inspires such archetypal images to be past down through their family archives. Blogging can become a huge part of a photographer's life. It's kind of funny I did not even go to school to be a photographer per say. My blog is more about all the realizations I have when I am dealing with my client's golden memories.
